NGC PMG Whitman Spring Expo 2026 submissions, in person?

I just saw an announcement that made me grin… and sigh… at the same time.
NGC and PMG are bringing full submission services to the Whitman Spring Expo in Baltimore this March, and if you’re anywhere near Maryland.. I’m officially jealous.
From Thursday, March 5 through 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, collectors will be able to submit coins and paper money in person at one of the biggest and best shows in the hobby: the Whitman Spring Expo, held at the Baltimore Convention Center.
This is one of those “drop everything and start sorting submissions” kind of announcements.
Why This Is a Big Deal (Especially If You Hate Shipping)
If you’ve ever nervously shipped a valuable coin or note across the country, you already understand why this matters. Adding insurance to the package doesn’t make it feel safe either.
At the Whitman Spring Expo, NGC and PMG will be accepting regular submissions for all service levels meaning you can hand-deliver your coins, tokens, or banknotes directly to grading staff without worrying about shipping costs, insurance headaches, or that awful “was it delivered yet?” feeling.
.. but wait, there’s more! (that never gets old)
CGC Is Coming Too!
Alongside NGC and PMG, CGC will also be accepting submissions at the show. That means comics, trading cards, video games, and other pop-culture collectibles can all be submitted in person as well.
If you already have a paid NGC or PMG membership, you automatically have CGC submission privileges, which makes this a rare opportunity to submit coins, currency, and collectibles all in one trip.
Oh, and if you have all 3 to submit, it might mean you’re a total nerd. Just sayin’
(which is totally fine, I’m typing this in my home office with a few hundred dollars worth of coins on my desk, fancy serial number currency in my drawer, and a filing cabinet full of my old sports cards and comic books. I won’t judge if you wont.)

A Quick Note on Deadlines
NGC and PMG says in the announcements that submissions will be accepted until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, but cutoff times can change depending on volume. If you’re attending with submissions in mind, the smart move is to check with staff at the booth as early as possible.
Early birds win at coin shows.. always.
(or so I’m told, I’m rarely an early bird)
The Whitman Expo Experience (For Those Who’ve Never Been)
If you’ve never attended a Whitman Expo, you’re missing one of the crown jewels of the numismatic calendar.
Whitman has been hosting major Baltimore shows for over 50 years, and the Spring Expo fills Halls F and G with:
- Hundreds of dealer tables
- Educational exhibits and seminars
- Collector society meetings
- Major auctions run by Stack’s Bowers Galleries
- .. and now, on-site grading submissions
General admission is free with optional Early Bird access for those who want first crack at the exhibition area.
The atmosphere is part museum, part marketplace, part reunion.. and 100% dangerous for your wallet.
Who Are NGC, PMG, and CGC?
If you’re newer to third-party grading, here’s the quick breakdown:
- NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) is the world’s leading coin grading service, known for consistency, accuracy, and globally trusted grading standards.
- PMG (Paper Money Guaranty) specializes exclusively in banknotes and is the largest third-party paper money grading service in the world.
- CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) grades comics, cards, video games, and other pop-culture collectibles using equally rigorous standards.
All three operate under the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) umbrella, which has certified over 100 million collectibles since 1987.
.. I’m just thinking about that. Over 100 million collectibles. Wow, I’m going to need a larger filing cabinet.
Why On-Site Submissions Are Worth It
Submitting at a major show like Whitman has some real advantages:
- No shipping stress – You hand items directly to grading staff
- Lower overall costs – No outbound shipping or insurance fees
- Immediate guidance – Ask questions about tiers, values, and turnaround times
- One-stop convenience – Buy, sell, learn, and submit all in the same day
If you’ve been sitting on a pile of “maybe I should grade these someday” coins… this is that day.
My Collector Take (AKA: Why I’m Jealous)
This is one of those announcements that makes me wish I could clone myself.
Between family responsibilities and real life, traveling to Baltimore just isn’t in the cards for me this time, but if you can attend, don’t hesitate. Shows like Whitman are where the hobby feels alive. Add on-site NGC, PMG, and CGC submissions, and it becomes a no-brainer.
Whether you’re submitting a single high-value piece or a carefully curated batch, this is one of the easiest and safest ways to get items professionally graded. Seriously, I don’t have a ton of super high-valued coins and currency, but I do have some that are special (several matching serial number notes, some amazing W mint mark quarters, and an absolutely stunning gold 1997 Canadian Haida coin that you see all over my site and social media accounts). If I was able to attend, you can bet your favorite coin that I’d be bringing my favorite coin!
.. and for those of us who sadly will only be watching from afar? We’ll be refreshing Instagram, following the hashtags, and living vicariously through your exhibit-floor photos.
